The Boom Stick Brotherhood
Ben lights the camp fire in his trench position. A darting flame fills the trench with smoke as he tries to get the wet firewood started by filling oil into the blaze.
Fascinated by war and convinced of a simple shaped nationalistic ideology, five vonuteer warriors from Europe and USA left behind their former lifes. Walking into battle in Ukraine, Ben, Alex, Craig, Charlie and Cowboy made it to the frontline and joint the right-wing militia Right Sector, supporting the ukrainian army which is short of staff. Receiving no payments but shelter, food and ammo the foreigners selfmade battlegroup Task Force Pluto is a loose union of individuals and no particular ukrainian phenomenon. The Boom Stick Brotherhood would move on to another conflict around the globe when Ukraine become boring to them. They want to be involved in battle. That´s what they are aiming for. Living a dream of smoking guns, camaraderie and outdoor life. An extreme lifestyle devoted to an everyday look into the face of death.
The Boom Stick Brotherhood is a multi-national, multi-religious and multi-ethnic group:
Ben, an austrian infantryman travelling hot zones since years. Bored by his own reluctant national army at home he made plenty of experience in Kosovo, Syria, Iraq and Ukraine.
Alex, Ben´s brother in arms from austrian army times deserted and fled the country to get ultimately involed in frontline fights.
Craig was fighting almost 6 years for the US-Army in Iraq and Afghanistan but got in conflict with the law afterwards. He escaped conviction by going abroad.
Charlie was totally bored by his californian routine in Silicon Valley but failed to join the US-Army and French Foreign Legion. Eventually he found battle opportunities in Ukraine.
Petty crook Cowboy got in trouble with US law only days before his Army unit was to deployed to Afghanistan. Later during a day release he made it from prison to France but French Foreign Legion rejected him. He gave Ukraine a go.
