Operation Orpheus - Nawabad, Northern Afghanistan
Two soldiers kidding. After two armored trucks of the ECHO platoon stuck in moody fields near Rahmat Bay, soldiers cover the area during a strong sandstorm while their comrades try to rescue the vehicles. In late October 2011 Kunduz based 3.Task Force started a several days operation in and around Nawabad (District Chahar Darah), west of Kunduz, northern Afghanistan. During the Operation Orpheus about 100 german infantery soldiers rolled out for patrols through the town and surrounding areas, which were expected as a retreat zone of insurgents.
